Mr. P S Raman


P.S. Raman is the Advocate-General, Tamil Nadu. He succeeds G. Masilamani, who has resigned.
Pattabhi Sundar Raman was born on November 7, 1960. He did his schooling at Vidya Mandir, Chennai and his graduation in commerce from the Loyola College, Chennai, and law degree from Madras Law College.
He is a lawyer for the past 24 years, practising in the Madras High Court and Supreme Court. He is a second-generation lawyer, being the son of late V.P. Raman, a former Advocate-General of Tamil Nadu and Additional Solicitor-General of India.
Mr. Raman had assisted his seniors in several leading constitutional and civil cases. He was designated a Senior Advocate of the Madras High Court in September 2004. After the new government was formed in the State in 2006, he was appointed Additional Advocate-General. He is a cricket enthusiast.
